Promise, Peace & Provision

Today, I am resting in God's 3 P's: His Promise, His Peace, and His Provision...

His Promises

God is always faithful! We can find many of His promises throughout His Word. Sometimes His promises are put into action as we obey and follow His will. "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you" (Exodus 20:12). And often His promises are given to us by His grace and His mercy, even when we don't do anything on our end: "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still" (Exodus 14:14); "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak" (Isaiah 40:29). God's promises are so good and He is always going to fulfill them. As I read through the old testament I am constantly reminded of His promises and how He showed His love to both the believers and non-believers thousands of years ago. He is still that same God who gives us hope to hold onto these truths! Today I am praising Him for that.

His Peace
When I first experienced God's peace, it was as if a hundred pound barbell was lifted off of my shoulders; it was similar to the feeling you get as you walk on the wet sand and listen to the waves crashing at your feet; it was the feeling of pure joy and carried no hint of stress or dismay. The Bible is full of verses that we can memorize and hold onto that can bring peace in the middle of strife. The following scriptures are just a few that I turn to when I want to fill my spirit with His peace:
"Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)
"The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace" (Psalm 29:11)

His Provision
It's very easy to get caught up in trying to provide for ourselves what we think we need. God knows all of our needs and our desires and He is always faithful to provide, even when we may be patting ourselves on the back and not giving Him the glory He deserves. And not only has He provided our physical needs but He also has provided everything we need to be spiritually full. "seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence." (2 Peter 1:3)

My praise today is that I am so very grateful for a God who loves and who shows His love and more ways than necessary, because that's just who He is. My prayer today is that I would daily seek to see His promises being fulfilled for me and that I would hold on to the hope that His peace is everlasting and that I would rest in His provisions because they are sufficient for me!
