A Beautiful Promise
Scene: Sipping on caramel iced coffee, reflecting over the past year and sifting through some journal entries...
It's amazing to look back on previous journals and see how God was working in my life then and to read the same passages and find God's word applicable to this very day as well.
God is so good.
Psalm 138:8 states "The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands."
This is God writing a promise through the hands of David and it is irreplaceable! The Lord shows us that even through our failures, our ups and downs, our sinful habits and thoughts, our forgetful ways and through our inabilities, He is still watching over us and has perfected a path in life for us. He promises that He will fulfill His purpose for us; all we have to do is submit and trust fully in Him.
He will make my path known,
though I cannot see it fully.
He knows me,
though I don't know him fully.
He loves me,
though I don't always love him fully.
My prayer is that, with the Holy Spirit dwelling in me, I will be able to clearly see and hold onto that promise that He has made for me and that I can help others this year to seek the Lord's purpose as well.
"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose." - Romans 8:28
