Waiting for a Sunnier Day

Is there any one reading this who likes to procrastinate? You know how when it rains you don't feel very motivated to get certain things done? You feel as though you should just wait for better conditions tomorrow, for when the weather is right and the day is just all around brighter... I know I'm guilty of it from time to time... I'm someone who tends to wait until the "right moment" to get something done; or I become frustrated when the conditions and situations of my day don't seem to be perfect enough for me to accomplish a task I need to get done and so then I push it back until I feel more ready or for when the day and the moment seems more right... I don't go talk to that person in need because I don't feel prepared or I feel inadequate. I won't take the time to pray for that situation because it seems that the timing is off or I'm too busy...

I've just finished reading through Ecclesiastes and I stumbled upon this imagery from God's Word that perfectly meets this flaw in my thinking:
"If clouds are full of water, they pour rain on the earth. Whether a tree falls to the south or the north, in the place where it falls, there it would lie. Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap. As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well." (Ecc. 11:3-6)

Solomon was wise indeed when he wrote this and it speaks to me strongly today.Waiting for the perfect conditions will only cause me to be inactive. Life is about taking risks sometimes or getting out of your comfort zone and God desires for us to, yes plan ahead and wait when necessary, but to live in the moment and to move when there's opportunity.

Don't wait until a sunnier day; you could miss out on opportunities that are happening right in the middle of this rainy season.
